Attention: TCE Co-ordinator and All Teachers of RELIGION AND PHILOSOPHY (RLP315110)

We would like to thank all teachers who submitted comments in relation to the DRAFT Sample Exam Paper for 2010.

A FINAL sample paper has now been confirmed for 2010.

Below is a document which outlines the structure of the FINAL sample examination paper.

As requested by teachers the FINAL Sample Examination paper will not be placed on the TQA website until the beginning of 3rd term as it is expected that it will be used as the source for the mid-term examinations.

If you are a teacher of this subject and wish to obtain an electronic copy of the FINAL Sample Examination Paper, please send an email to Martin Minehan at the TQA at:

In your request you will need to state the name of the subject for the sample examination paper you require as well as your name and the name of your school/college.

Martin, upon verification with your school or college, will return a MS WORD copy of the paper to you via email.

At its meeting on June 3 the Authority considered issues raised by teachers about the recently accredited RLP315110 Religion & Philosophy course and the external assessment.

The Authority decided it should

-cancel the accreditation of RLP315110 Religion & Philosophy from 31 December 2010 subject to its replacement with a
Studies in Religion course,

-facilitate the development of a Studies in Religion course accessible to a wide range of students for use from 2011 and

-support the provision of philosophy units to suitable students through the UTas college program.
